SHEEPFOLD MENTALITY – Fri, Feb 08, 2019

Psalm 78:70-71 KJV

He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:

[71] From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.

Even for my young age I have seen people rise to prominence from nothing. I know a guy who had absolutely nothing. He would depend on another colleague and I mostly for his needs, and it was not as if we even had much to spare. We simply offered what we had because we saw his situation to be far worse off than ours.

His situation was really pathetic. It was difficult to close one’s eyes to his situation once you were close to him. Yet I see my friend today doing so well and I know that indeed there is a God.

David’s story is not much different, though his is well known and well told. There was nothing glorious about his first job of sheep tendering, yet the mandate on his life was much bigger. He carried some oil for bigger things, so that his earlier flock was only a test case for what was to come.

Big things sometimes begin small. If you are open to such wisdom, you can better appreciate your current status while you strive towards greatness. Your time to feed a nation will come, but till then, keep feeding the sheep.

Have a blessed day. #TGIF
