Saints on Earth – Tue, Oct 16, 2018

Job 5:1 KJV

Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?

When I checked the definition of a saint this morning I found something interesting. Wikipedia defined a saint as a person who is recognized as having an exceptional degree of holiness or likeness or closeness to God. Depending on the context, the term also retains its original Christian meaning, as any believer who is “in Christ” and in whom Christ dwells, whether in Heaven or on Earth.

I know this is a very sensitive area even among Christians, but this morning I’d like to focus on the latter definition, the original Christian meaning, which may indeed qualify you and I to make intercessions on behalf of our friends.

Job’s friend, Eliphaz, knew the power of intercession. He knew that situations could be changed if we implore others to get behind us in prayer, especially God’s elect, those of the household of faith.

You and I are also saints… saints on earth, whose intercessions matter a lot. Many intentions we make to God are 90% of the time about ourselves. Make a list of others, so you don’t forget them. Your role as a saint is no cheap one.

Have a blessed day.
