PERSONAL REFORMS – Thu, Sep 06, 2018

2 Chronicles 34:3 KJV

For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.

When I was a teenager, the National Reform Party was formed by one Goosie Tanoh just 2 blocks away from where I lived. Much was said about him in the neighbourhood and almost everyone rooted for him, or should I say his money. Just as the name of his party suggested, he wanted to bring some massive reforms to the country.

Yet on elections day, he couldn’t even amass enought votes to win that particular electoral area. Not everyone had bought into his reform ideals.

King Josiah is known in history as one of the kings (like Hezekiah) who brought massive reforms to Judah and Israel. They demonstrated it and got the people to buy in, so that in their days, the people flourished.

Everyone needs reforms at certain points in their lives. You can not keep seeing things go worse and refuse to reform. God commends those who take up reforms (v26). Begin with your mind and gradually seek the buy-in of those who could be directly related.

Have a blessed day.
