DISTRESS PRAYER CALLS – Fri, Aug 17, 2018

2 Chronicles 14:11 KJV

And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord , it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord , thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.

Last night I received a distress call from a relative at about 11pm. He wouldn’t tell me what the issue was but he needed some good amount of cash ASAP… an amount I didn’t have in my mobile wallet.

I told him I couldn’t provide that much so I transferred the little I had to him.
This morning, he and I had a little chat and he told me he didn’t know why he never thought to pray about his situation but chose to buy his way out, in the heat of his predicament. He lamented that he had not brought out the believer in him at the time.

Many of us put our faith aside when trouble hits us instantly. The first resort is to look for human interventions, forgetting we are spirit beings. I’m not disregarding what help your neighbour can provide, I’m suggesting to you to pray about it as a first option, not a second or third.

King Asa thought of only one thing when he saw the multitudes against him.
I pray for a heart that is able to remember God as a first option in times of crises, a heart that considers sending distress prayer signals to heaven first before any other interventions.

Have a blessed Friday. #TGIF
