1 Kings 18:43-44 KJV
And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
[44] And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot , and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
Sometimes we want so much to see the spectacular happen in our lives, that we miss the little things that may actually bring the spectacular.
I had a Mathematics teacher who would always say to us, “small things you don’t know but big things you want to know.”
A similar experience happened on Mount Carmel with Elijah’s servant, after years of drought.
For 7 times Elijah had prayed and asked him to confirm if the clouds were approaching. On the seventh time, the servant saw a cloud, but he described it as a “little cloud out of the sea.” Perhaps he thought a heavy rainstorm shouldn’t preceded by a ‘small cloud’ like he saw. But we all know what happened later.
Seeing that miracle happen in your life may be preceded by a simple blessing. Your way to the top may be preceded by a simple opportunity to serve in a little capacity for probably just a day. Don’t despise all these. Little may just be enough to hail the big deal.
Have a blessed day.
