1 Samuel 17:45 KJV
Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
How do you respond when in danger, or when met with a very threatening situation?
The account of David and Goliath has too many punchlines to reflect on in such moments.
Consider this 9ft 9″ warlord and battle machine ready to make minced meat out of you, and you still found courage to speak back to him, telling him what you would make of him too. This level of faith in God is unprecedented. A thing you may not even find with some prophets!
But alas we know why David had this confidence and faith in God, he had had similar encounters in the fields already with bears and lions. He knew God didn’t need a sword and spear to save, the battle is the LORD’s. (v47), and he desired that everybody would come to this understanding, including his senior brother, Eliab.
Your response to danger and perilous moments is a clear indication of what preparation you’ve had all along, and what your faith lies in.
I pray your response will also bring God’s glory afore when that time comes.
Have a blessed day.
