1 Samuel 10:27 KJV
But the children of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.
A new king had been chosen. For the very first time, Israel had a king, chosen by God Himself, through the prophet Samuel, though both God and prophet did not like the idea that much.
Saul wasn’t so much of a public figure as his father. Though he had the looks, nowhere were his acts of bravado or significant exploits recorded. Above all he even lacked the confidence a king needed. He found himself hiding when he was to be presented to the people.
But one thing was certain. His time had come! So despite his flaws and all the depressing comments those the worthless men around him passed, he was still king, and the first one for that matter, approved by God!
Uninspiring, depressing and negative comments, from worthless fellows, may attempt to derail your first shot at an initiative, but you need to tell yourself “The time has come.” Ignore them like Saul did and embrace what is yours.
Have a blessed day.
