Exodus 28:2,40 KJV
And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.
[40] And for Aaron’s sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty.
I had noticed a young lad in my church who often came to church late and usually wasn’t as dressed as you’d see him on Weekdays when going to work.
I had the courage to confront him and his response was, “Oh.., but this is church, I can always wear anything…”
Well, he was right, he could come to church in casual wear and slippers, like most of his friends he stood behind the church with. God looks at the heart, right?
Indeed God is more interested in our hearts than our garments, but on two occasions in this chapter, He specifically asked that Aaron’s garments be made beautifully… so much for a God who cares not for beauty!
God likes what is best and beautiful too. Scripture is littered with such. The splendour and array of beauty revealed in heaven by John speaks volumes of the Master’s handiwork.
Show up in best version of yourself when meeting God, He loves it.
Have a blessed day.
