Genesis 43:30 KJV
And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.
Earlier this year I listened to an audio recording of one of Uncle Ebo Whyte’s many pieces titled, “10 things I wish I knew before age 60.”
In that piece, Uncle Ebo admonished us young people to give Family a higher priority in life than than we often do. His argument was that, we are bound to grow old someday and the ties we make now will determine who stays around us when we are old and retired.
The truth of the matter is that when we get old and retire from active service/work, we will long to see people daily. I know this because of how much my old man (dad) desires to see and talk to me. And that yearning can be satisfied if we form the right bonds now!
Call that brother, sister, son or parent you haven’t seen or been with in a long time. Yearn for them as Joseph did for Benjamin. Show them some love and develop the bond you’ve never had.
Have a blessed day.
