Genesis 39:7 KJV

And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.

All was going well for Joseph. After he had been sold into slavery, the last place you’d have expected to see him was in the house of a top political figure, as his chief of staff. Indeed, all was going well, and Joseph knew it, he knew the Lord was with him. He must have said to himself, “this is the life!”

But a proposal came, in just three wods, which would change his entire life… LIE WITH ME.
These three words were going to be the ‘make or break’ moment in the young man’s life.
He turned down the offer and we all know where he ended.

Many such proposals have destroyed a lot of us Christians. No, they may not come in three simple words, but alas, have always looked too juicy to resist.
Think of that business deal that was proposed to you; that offer from a student colleague/lecturer; that promise by the choir master, etc, etc… the list goes on!

You may never know when those appealing words may come or from whom they may come. But I pray that you may have the strength from above, to say “No” and keep your heart from evil.
