TOMORROW, SELF RELIANT – Mon, Sep 04, 2017

Genesis 35:27-28 KJV

And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.

[28] And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.

I find this passage very interesting and for me, it goes to confirm the fact that God’s ways are indeed not our ways. And that man can only propose, but God disposes.

The last time we heard of Isaac, he was at his death bed blessing his sons, in very unpleasant circumstances that saw Jacob (now Israel) steal his brother, Esau’s blessings.

One would expect Isaac to have been dead by now. I’m sure if they all knew Isaac would live this long, we could have been spared all the drama that almost rended their family into pieces. Neither Isaac, nor Jacob and Esau saw this coming, though they had some good encounters with God Himself.

It is important to live each day at a time and not to ‘worry’ too much about what tomorrow holds, as many have said. God is God, and He will always see those who trust Him through when the time approaches. Commit to Him, He is all you need for now.

Have a blessed day.
