For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord ; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.
One advise I will never forget, is what one man gave me when I ventured into entrepreneurship some years ago. He advised me against The cries of innocent people.
He asked me to vow, if possible, that I wouldn’t take advantage of less privileged people or turn a deaf ear to their pleas. It didn’t matter much to me then than it does now.
Whether you like it or not, the cries of the innocent send a dire distress signal to the Lord. At a point, He is unable to take them any longer… then He acts. Even in death, Abel’s cry went against his brother.
Sodom/Gomorrah wasn’t destroyed just because the people were sinful… the cries that came before the Lord were beyond the threshold. I pray for the grace to be sensitive to feelings of others.
