Genesis 18:31 KJV

And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty’s sake.

This verse reminds me of Pareto’s Rule which invariably states that 80% of the results can be achieved by 20% of work input. It is interesting to know that this rule also works for prayer and intercession.

When Abraham heard of the impending destruction for Sodom and Gomorrah, he bargained with God on behalf of the righteous ones in there. Though it came down to 10men, the Lord could still not find that many, so we all know how it ended.

This reasons to us that, if the prayers of 10men plus that of Abraham had ascended to the Lord, the whole city may have been saved and not destoyed!
Fast forward to the account of Jonah and Nineveh, the reverse is true.

If only a group of people would intercede, any situation can be salvaged. That is why it is very crucial to let other trusted believers know your predicaments, their intercession can never be downplayed. (See Phil 2:3-4)
