Genesis 4:7 KJV 
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
The short conversation between God and Cain, the son of Adam, reveals man’s ancient relationship with sin (v6-7). We go way back!!!
God makes 2 statements:
1. Sin desires you.
2. You MUST rule over it.
The first is a statement of fact and not much can be done about it. But the second isn’t.
Much of the problems we face as Christians, if not all, are a result of our inability to heed to the second statement; a Command.
We make the relationship with sin a very mutual one. We desire sin as much as it desires us. In the end, we only make a mess of ourselves, like Cain and his descendant, Lamesh (v23-24).
…not easy but very possible. God bless you as you rule over sin.
