Genesis 3:6 KJV
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
I’ve heard many opinions that suggest that ‘what we see is what kills us.’
If for nothing at all, I think the fall of man confirms this old saying. I asked myself whether all along Eve hadn’t taken a critical look at the Fruit, prior to the dialogue with the serpent.
Of course she had! But just after that dialogue with opana, bible says she “saw” that the tree was good for food. This is interesting. What we see can only cause us sin when we see them through the eyes of the enemy.
Don’t go borrowing the enemy’s lens to view things, situations or issues. They will usually change your focus on the same thing you’ve been seeing all before, and you may eventually regret you did.
Have a blessed day. #CarllyDevotionals #1ChapterADay #OCP http://www.carllyjay.com
