Genesis 1:14 KJV
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
I always have fond memories of Sunday school anytime I read the creation story. Though God had created light and darkness on Day 1, He put in the sun and moon and all the stars on the 4th day.
One thing that got my attention this morning, is what God wanted these to represent (see v14). He didn’t want them to ONLY give light but also to be for signs.
Pause and think about this for a while. This is no occasion for astrologers and seers to read other meanings. The light is always there to signify something; to tell you something; open you to something new.
It’s no coincidence that Jesus would return millions of years later to make that statement… that He is the Light of the world, The sign to the Father. Let the Light lead You, as you have a blessed day.
