Revelation 6:9-10 KJV
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
[10] And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
John focuses on the Seals in this chapter… seals that could only be opened by the creature that seemed most helpless amongst all the creatures mentioned in the Book of Revelation, lamb that has been slained.
The fifth seal obviously caught my attention today probably because of what it revealed: the souls of those slain for God’s sake.
I kept wondering and asking why these souls were waiting at a designated place and crying for vengeance.
Then thoughts of the concepts of Paradise and Purgatory kept rushing into my mind. Whatever this particular seal signifies/foretells, one thing is certain… that the souls of those we hurt may cry against to God seeking vengeance.
This is not only scary but also a fact. There’s no need to purposely damage the image of others, malign or slander. Sometimes the effect of these are worse than death itself. Let’s be very thoughtful when it comes to how we treat others.
Have a blessed day.
