3 John 1:2-3 KJV
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
[3] For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
Yesterday we discussed the need to be weary of those who bring false doctrines into our homes and why we need not wish them God speed.
So it is just right to celebrate those who do quite the contrary. John the Apostle used much of the book of 3rd John to praise the efforts of one man by name Gaius. John could not hide his well wishes for Gaius, so he’d pray for Gaius’ prosperity… and prosperity for his soul.
Never downplay the kindness of anyone who welcomes you into their homes. You’ll appreciate this much better if you’ve ever been a stranger in another man’s land.
Pray for them, bless them and never stop mentioning them in your prayers, and by all means make them know how much you appreciate what they did for you.
Have a blessed day.
