SOUND SPEECH – Wed, Feb 22, 2017

Titus 2:6-8 KJV

Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
[7] In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
[8] Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

When a young man was assigned to a group of very young and vibrant people, during a group discussion, he frowned. This happened some years back at my workplace. What were his reasons?

He thought he knew those guys too well and believed they would only be jesting and making unsavory comments. He could already see an unproductive group.

Paul the apostle admonished Titus about this characteristic behaviour of the youth. In all the counsel Paul gave the various groups, he was careful to lay emphasis on sound speech when he addressed the youth.

Youthful exuberance may invite you to tow the line of most others; trash talking and dishing out the words ‘when necessary.’ But they may come back to haunt you. Keep your speech sound.
Have a blessed day.
