1 Thessalonians 5:20 KJV
Despise not prophesyings.
Ours is a time when prophesying is common place. You don’t need to go far to hear a prophesy. In fact you can just call into a radio program and before you know it, one “man of God” is speaking into your life.
Situations like these have seemingly watered down prophecies, and it is becoming more and more difficult to chide people for dismissing one prophesy or the other.
But Paul the apostle teaches us otherwise. What he says in 1 Thess 5:20 is very direct and instructive, “do not despise not Prophesy.” So that even though they abound our attitude towards them can’t be a dismissive one.
It is your duty to receive the wheat from the chaff, but you need the Spirit of God to do that separation on your behalf.
Test all things (v21)… so you can cling unto the good ones which become beneficial in the long term.
Have a blessed day.
