Luke 24:44-45 KJV
And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me._
[45] Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
Sometimes I wonder how Jesus might have felt, knowing that most of his following never truly grasped the import of most of His messages.
Three days after His death, He had to keep revealing Himself to his disciples just for them to believe. Now that must be daunting and stressful for any man, but Jesus came for this purpose.
As we see in verse 45, Jesus opened their understanding eventually, so that all He had told them while He was with them, plus what He had taught them in the scriptures would finally sink home.
It is very important that we seek understanding each time from the Holy Ghost prior to reading the scriptures. Reading it like any other book won’t augur well for your development as a believer.
Unless your understanding is opened you may only look at the face value of the text/words, and miss the message therein.
Remember to ALWAYS pray for your understanding to be enhanced before you open that book.
Have a blessed day.
