​Malachi 2:13-14 KJV

And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.
[14] Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the Lord hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.

I see some very interesting revelations in the latter part of this 2nd chapter of Malachi. The Lord had not only rejected those who who brought ‘unwanted’ offerings to Him, as we saw yesterday. There’s yet another group.
Who made up this group?.. Those who had abandoned their wives (spouses), the wives of their youth, whom they had brought to the altar, and vowed to the Lord to love. Now this is quite interesting.
The Lord establishes the fact that He is that unseen witness at the wedding covenant and would not take it lightly should any of the two deal treachously with the other.
The wife of your youth is dear to the heart of the Lord. Your covenant with her perhaps has more implications than you ever thought. Keep it so and enjoy the blessings of the Lord.
