Jeremiah 3:12-13 KJV
Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord ; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord , and I will not keep anger for ever.

[13] Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord .

When I was in Senior High School I heard a story about nine men in Rwanda who had  HIV/AIDS. They were advised by a fetish to defile a 9months-old baby if they wanted cure.

So that’s what they did. They had their way with a baby of one woman who lived in the neighbourhood of one these men. The baby died of course, and our culprits together with the fetish priest were jailed after a court hearing.

Sometimes when I hear such stories I ask myself whether such level of wickedness  can be covered by God’s mercy? Left to you and I alone I’m sure those men can never be forgiven… but not God!

His mercies are exceeding and excessively abundant, so that no situation of sin and guilt is actually beyond His forgiveness. Your sin may not be worse than the nine, so admit it before Him, He WILL forgive.
