Jeremiah 1:18-19 KJV
For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
[19] And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord , to deliver thee.
Jeremiah’s call, similar to Moses’, was a dramatic one. He made excuses to dodge the call on his life. Being the son of a priest, you’d expect him to readily embrace such a call, probably because of what he’s been exposed to, but that wasn’t the case.
The nature of Jeremiah’s ministry and Call was such that he needed some heavy dose of protection. You don’t speak against the king, chief priests and princes and just walk away 🚶🏾🚶🏾, no, many before him had paid for with their dear lives.
You can be sure that if God calls you for a particular Cause, then He has already equipped you for it. It may not be a dramatic one but once you begin to notice the availability of those resources and how easily accessible they are to you, then you need to be convinced that He’s calling you for a Cause.
I pray each of us develops antennae to pick up signals of our Callings. It may come late, but by all means identify it and live for it like Jeremiah did.
Have a blessed day.
