Isaiah 61:1-2 KJV
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
[2] To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord , and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
Many have come to accept this scripture, Is 61:1-4, as the manifesto of Jesus Christ when He came to the earth.
A good portion of the first verse is mostly quoted; bringing good tidings to the meek, heal the brokenhearted and set prisoners free. We usually fail to see that He also came to proclaim the day of the Vengeance of God.
What day could this day of Vengeance possibly be? Your guess is as good as mine!
You may choose not to accept this because of your religious disposition, or even interpret it differently. But alas, He’ll come back as a judge.
He wouldn’t chip this into His ‘manifesto’ if it wasn’t that important. I therefore urge you to live everyday mindful of this very fact.
Have a blessed day.
