Isaiah 31:1 KJV
Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord !
The last time we read something about Egypt, I threw a little light on Egypt’s significance and some of the spiritual undertones implied when Egypt is mentioned.
Spiritual power is good to seek and even best to rely on, but when this spiritual power comes from the wrong source, it gets troubling for the user.
Egypt was also known for its powerful military artillery. At the time others used machetes, they used chariots and had armours.
Either ways, i. e. physically or spiritually it was/is very tempting to fall on Egypt for help. But Isaiah prophesied otherwise. You cannot rely on the arm of flesh as a believer, neither should you consider spiritual help from the wrong places.
Because “when God stretches his hand, both he that helps and he that is helped shall fall down. (Is 31:3)”
Help comes only from the Father, and how He helps remains His discretion alone. Let’s keep waiting on Him.
Have a blessed day.
