Isaiah 16:12-13 KJV
And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.
[13] This is the word that the Lord hath spoken concerning Moab since that time.
Isaiah continues his prophesy against the nations. The last time we saw what message he had to deliver to the Assyrians, from God. Today his focus is on the the people of Moab.
There comes a time when it seems God does not listen to your prayers, especially in your time of distress. Why should this be the case. Moab found themselves in this same situation. Too much had gone wrong, they had pushed the Lord to the wall. They had been too PROUD. (v6)
Pride has the ability to neutralize God’s compassion for us. In all of scripture, one of the foremost attitudes the LORD loathes is pride. In fact, too many scriptures communicates this. This is what brought down Lucifer, the Morning Star, according to Isaiah 14:12
You may not notice pride in your life due to its subtility, but others may. As you take stock of your life as the year ends, remember to do a ‘pride’ check, and let your friends tell you how you are doing on that score.
Have a blessed day.
