Isaiah 13:10-11 KJV
For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
[11] And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
Isaiah’s message of doom to the Babylonians, as we read in this chapter, bears a lot of similarities to prophesies of the End of Time. For me, Christmas 🎄 drums this home ever better.
Though Christmas reminds us of the coming of the child Jesus into the world as a Saviour, it should also remind us of Jesus’ coming as a Judge of the world to pronounce judgement on all evil and wickedness (v9, 11).
I know a number of doctrines interprets scriptures like these differently and claim Jesus is too good a person to mete out such an end upon men. But I’m convinced it’s safer to believe this will happen than not to.
Believing the end will come in itself is not enough anyway, living your life in a way that shows you believe, is a better proof.
The end will come, Jesus will come, let’s prepare to meet Him.
Have a blessed Friday.
