Isaiah 11:1 KJV
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

Just when Isaiah was speaking about how God was going to use a remnant of Israel to save His people, Isaiah names the tribe of Jesse.

Jesse’s household was nothing extra-o. We may not compare them to the Rawlingses, the Ahwois or the Tsikatas. Yet the Jesses found favour with God and He engrafted them into the lineage of His dear Son.

Just like Him, “May the Spirit of the Lord rest on you who are lowly. And may the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord be your portion NOW, in Jesus’ Name.

May He make you of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and may you not judge after the sight of your eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of your ears: but with righteousness shall treat the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek. (v2-4)
