Isaiah 9:14-15 KJV
Therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.

[15] The elder and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

The coming of the Lord, the Messiah is foretold by Isaiah in this chapter and the news was meant to bring Hope to Israel. Yet in the same chapter Isaiah expresses God’s anger against Israel because of their elders and prophets.

Why would God cut off the head of Israel? The head represented the elders of the land and God was going to do away with them because they had caused the rest of the people to err and so for that matter destroyed them. Simply put they misled the people. (v16)

Why would God cut off the tail of Israel? The tail represented the prophets and God was going to do away with them because they taught lies; fake prophets! (v15). God can deal with his appointed all by Himself.

Cutting off the head or tail is not your responsibility, It is God’s. Stop playing God. If you have a responsibility at all, then it is to get on your knees rather, and pray for them.
