How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!

Some years ago I watched a Nigerian movie with a friend of mine. The story was based on a love relationship between a young man and a woman whose respective tribes didn’t approve of the relationship.

The two love birds decided to elope to the next village. They did. On their way through the forest, they met an old lady who upon hearing their story remarked, “Young love is sweeter than wine.”

Wine is indeed a sweet thing and appeals to many kings, so for the Philosopher to come to such a conclusion that something is sweeter… makes love indeed a beautiful thing. I’m not talking agape today, I’m celebrating that which is common to a MAN and a WOMAN.

Some relationships have not ended well, but at least both parties would always tell you how beautiful it was when it started. If your relationship hasn’t seen God yet, you may want to bring Him in NOW to sustain that love and make the feeling a lasting one. Trust me, you don’t want it to die.
