Ecclesiastes 8:14 KJV
There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just men , unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked men , to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity.
The debate about why wicked men prosper sometimes, will never end. Reading it in this chapter of Ecclesiastes tells me it had been a bother for the people even in the days of Solomon. Who knows, it may have even preceded them and dated back to the very ancient men.
What better reasons/explanation could be attributed to such trans-generational phenomenon? Wicked people still get prosperous and live longer while some righteous, just people suffer wickedly. In all his wisdom Solomon couldn’t grasp such happenings, he concluded they are vanity!
Jesus on the other hand, when teaching about love for enemies, said His Father (God) makes the sun rise and set on both the just and the wicked, in Matt 5:45. Opportunities are presented to ALL MEN. They may inadvertently apply godly principles to make the best of these opportunities irrespective of who they are, and it WILL turn out for good for them!
Applying godly principles yields much gain and it is wise for Christians to do same. Being a Christian doesn’t end at giving your life to Christ, it sure holds more in store for those who apply His principles.
Have a blessed day.
