Proverbs 1:2-4 KJV
To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
[3] To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
[4] To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
I was so happy this morning to read Proverbs for two reasons; first for the change (from Psalms to Proverbs) and secondly for what the book of Proverbs is known for… proverbs!!!
They say if the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. King Solomon in the first few verses spells out the purpose of the entire book. See verses 1-4.
Young people like you and I need a lot of knowledge and discretion, and Solomon is inviting us to come to this table of wise counsels to add value to our lives and deepen our understanding of God.
I entreat you to read with me a chapter of this book each day for the next one month, meditating deeply on a verse each time, and see what gains you’ll make in knowledge and wisdom.
Have a blessed Friday.
