I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.

I was in traffic yesterday when one man driving directly in front of me just wouldn’t move even though there the lights had turned green

So I lost patience and started jamming my car horn at him. Then he shouted “what do you want me to do?” I responded angrily, “just move!”

When I eventually got to drive next to him we talked harshly to each other, though we didn’t use insults. After about 10mins while I was still in the same traffic jam, I asked myself if I had behaved well as a Christian.

Like the Psalmist, I may be for peace, but when I speak they are for war. We need to guard our mouths and tongues so our utterances truly reflect what we stand for.
