Psalm 16:4 KJV
Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god : their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
Holding on to something else other than God in this life isn’t that rewarding after all. Just take a look at the end of all those who have rubbished God just because of some good material possessions.
David thinks the sorrows of such people only multiply by the day. Things only get worse and the end is even more horrendous…Sheol!!!
On the contrary, setting the LORD always before us (verse 8) maintains our lot and gives us a goodly heritage (verse 5 & 6) and above all our souls will swerve corruption in Sheol. (verse 10).
I pray that at a time where we chase after money and worldly assets just to live comfortably, we shall not forget the Holy One of Israel. Let’s be reminded to keep Him atop our daily endeavours.
Have a lovely rainy day ☔
