CELEBRATIONS – Fri, Apr 10, 2015

Esther 9:18 KJV
But the Jews that were at Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

What else could be on the minds of the Jews who were almost completely annihilated. Nothing but celebrations.

Celebrating a success, victory or a milestone in one’s life is not that carnal after all. I’ve met many believers who just seem to have a problem with celebrations.

Of course, when we miss the whole reasons for celebrating, so that our celebrations become an avenue for drunkenness and gross misconduct, then we were better off not celebrating at all. This is the danger we should avoid. (See a related reflection merry moments).
Too many celebrations have rather ended up pretty badly.

Celebrations must neither draw us away from God nor jeopardize our relationships with one another. They must foster unity and fraternity between ourselves and remind us of His goodness in our lives. Feel free to celebrate your successes and glorify your Father in Heaven.

Have a blessed day.
