Esther 1:12 KJV
But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king’s commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him.
Today we begin a new book on a very interesting note. I keep wondering why Queen Vashti refused to show up when the king requested her presence.
It definitely wasn’t the first time such a request was being made I believe, so it beats my mind that she could take such an action that would make her lose her position as queen.
While some could argue that perhaps she had become puffed up with pride due to her immaculate beauty, I would want to attribute it to familiarity. Familiarity is the one single factor that is able to do so much damage to good relationships.
I know pastors’ sons who don’t have much reverence for their fathers and even God, probably because they are too familiar with them. Familiarity could be very detrimental if not handled with care.
Stay blessed and have a Holy Thursday.
