Ezra 2:59
The following were those who came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addan, and Immer, though they could not prove their fathers’ houses or their descent, whether they belonged to Israel:
42 thousand plus exiles had returned to Israel and each tribe was determined to organize themselves in a proper manner. But we hear of 5 groups of people whose ancestry could not be traced.
In fact they were not even allowed to function as priests till lots were cast to determine their ancestry.
We all know the importance of our ancestry and many of us Ghnaians know how it feels to be able to identify where you belong. Unfortunately, not many of us can boast of our spiritual ancestry.
I dare to say that your spiritual ancestry is even more important than your biological or physical one. If you knew what you were spiritually, probably you wouldn’t have held on to that habit.
Belong to the household of faith. Trace your spiritual identity to Christ. Know your worth and how much power you have at your disposal that you haven’t yet tapped. Be proud…you are a believer!
Have a blessed day.
