PERFECTION – Thu, Feb 26, 2015

2 Chronicles 25:2 KJVperfection
And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord , but not with a perfect heart.

Usually when I come across verses like this, I ask myself if it is possible to attain perfection. Amaziah was good but the scriptures say he didn’t go about his things with a perfect heart.

By definition, perfection is a state of being without a flaw or defect according to my offline dictionary by Nicolas Guillaune.
So can one really be perfect?

Matt 5:48 entreats us to be perfect as God is, but more importantly I’m drawn to what we read in 2 Chr 16:9 some few days ago. “The eyes of the Lord move to and fro the earth to show himself strong on behalf of those whose heart are perfect towards him.”

You see, so in that context, a perfect heart is not necessarily one that doesn’t sin, but one that is completely and consistently reliant on the power of God and attributes his successes to it. Your time for perfection is here!

Have a blessed day.
