2 Kings 3:27 KJV
Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.
The king of Moab made a big mistake (engineered by God) by attacking Israel at the wrong time. The results led to the massacre of his own people.
When he realized the battle wasn’t favouring him, in a moment of desperation, he sacrificed his son on the city wall, and bible records that “there was great indignation/wrath against Israel.”
Now, so many legitimate question can be drawn from this. I was left in awe this morning as I meditated on this very very complex verse, but one thing stood out; SACRIFICE.
You are probably not receiving what you are asking of God because you are hesitating to make make that crazy sacrifice. That is one sure way of telling God you’ve reached that moment of desperation… the make or break moment.
Be prepared to sacrifice to make frog-leap progress.
Have a blessed weekend.
