1 Kings 8:43 KJV
Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.
Solomon dedicated the temple he had built to God and made quite a lengthy prayer. The long and short of the prayer was for God to consider the temple as a “second heaven,” so that anyone, not just jews, who went there to pray would be heard by God.
God listened to that prayer, and it was so. No wonder Jerusalem became what it became. Do you remember Jesus encounter with the Samiritan woman?
God’s presence filled the temple and was so because it was dedicated to Him with very pure intentions.
Now Jerusalem lives in our hearts and so does the Spirit of God.
But this is only true if we continue to live out our dedication, a thing we did when we got baptised in the Lord.
We need to live as though we are constantly aware of this fact and do well not to grieve Him.
Have a blessed day.
