Joshua 9:14-15 KJV
And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the Lord .

[15] And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.

This very interesting chapter exposes some weaknesses of the Joshua Administration rather too early in his tenure.

Before Joshua could say Jack Robinson, his elders had agreed a truce with their neighbours and so could not destroy them. See the reaction of the congregation in verse 18b, the same could not be said of Moses…. He always consulted the Lord!!

Another thing here worth meditation is the behaviour of the Gibeonites. Their cunning lives and crafty ways rather spared their lives. They saw an impending danger and decided to act ahead of time.

Some people say ‘chances favour the prepared mind.’
You may not have the strength to fight one particular adversary. If in ur estimation u believe it would be more prudent to join them, better do so! Ur life or ministry could be sustained as a result.
