Joshua 5:9 KJV
And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day.
As I began reading the chapter I asked myself why there was the need for a 2nd circumcision… the answer was staring at me in the face.
We established the fact that all the old Jews had died within de 40yrs and those entering Canaan now were a bunch of new generation kids… They were not circumcised so technically could not lay hold of de promises (blessings) of their forefathers.
But at Gilgal the Lord made a profound statement that you and I must decree into our lives. (see verse 9 above)
No longer was God going to judge them on mistakes/sins of their predecessors. This was necessary for them in order to progress.
Every one of us need to come to this point in our lives, Gilgal, where we totally detach from parental & ancestral curses (and other linkages) and get ready to take on the promises of God that brings progress.
This is His Will for us in Christ Jesus, I don’t know what u are waiting for!
Good morning and stay blessed.
