1 Kings 21:21,27 KJV
Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,

[27] And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

When I was much younger, I heard a story about some men in either East or Central Africa, who would together defile a baby, to rid them of their HIV status, as advised by a ritualist.

I felt this was one of the most wicked things any man could do. Apparently, the man who told me this was trying to get somewhere. He was demonstrating how low God could go to offer Mercy!

As in Ahab’s case, none of our deeds are hidden before the Lord. Instantly, Elijah pronounces judgement on Ahab for gross evil, according to the Word of the Lord (v21-24). But what is worth noting is Ahab’s response, the game changer… a repentant heart!!!

No amount of evil is ever greater than God’s Mercy! God has capacity to forgive sins unimaginable, inconceivable and unprecedented. Don’t wallow in more sin because you feel yours cannot be salvaged. His Mercy follows no logic.
