LONG SUFFERING – Tue, Sep 17, 2019

Jeremiah 33:3 KJV

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

When this Word of God came to Jeremiah the prophet, he was actually in prison, definitely for some things he had said earlier. His fate was seemingly bleak.

Jeremiah himself needed a Word from the Lord concerning himself and his conditions. He needed some inspiration, some uplifting, some assurance that he wasn’t going die against the backdrop that it wasn’t the first time he had come close to death.

Yet this message of assurance came to Jeremiah, not for himself, but for the trampled cities of Judah and Jerusalem. To the families that have been broken by war. How does one bear such news when one is in dire need of same. This is the cross the man had to bear… and he did!!!

Christianity without long suffering is a different message. It is no gospel!
Chasing self gratification in the face of general public pain is not The Message of the Cross. Christ has taught us this in many ways, let’s stick to the basics, we can’t go wrong on them.

Have a blessed day.
