Isaiah 2:11-12 KJV
The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.
[12] For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
I was in a queue, approaching the check-in counter when the man right in front of me picked up a fight with the lady at the counter. I honestly don’t know what happened but all I heard was the man shout, “do you know who I am?”
Another man in another queue just took the fight upon himself and shouted back, “who are you?”. At this point I also joined in and whispered from behind though audible enough for him to hear, “yes, who are you?”.
Very often the natural posture of man is to resent the proud. I believe this innate predisposition of man originates from such qualities the father himself possesses. Isaiah pointed to this in today’s text, where he preached of the eminent end of the proud.
Pride and all forms of self-magnification have no place in His kingdom. Remember, God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). Stay humble!!!
Have a blessed day.
