Proverbs 18:24 KJV

A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

I can boldly say that I have some very good friends that I can count on, people who have stood by me irrespective of the situation. People who have come through for me when there was just no where else to look to. I’d have loved to write down their names here but can’t for obvious reasons.

For some of them, even though we never grew up in the same home, the kind of bonds we have formed over the years even amazes me. Selfless people who gave off their all at a point, just because they believed in your story. Yeah, I have and do benefit from such friendships.

The author of this book may also have had buddies who stuck up with him all the way, yet he spoke of a friend at another level, a friend who is even more than a brother. A friend whose interventions are almost impossible to describe.

Take time today to thank God for the gift of the Holy Spirit in our time. One we can even talk to when none else is closer; in our most anxious and alone moments, He still sticks and He wants you to be aware of this. So even in the loo He is still present. Raise your consciousness of Him daily, He is closer than close.
