Psalm 122:7-9 KJV
Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
[8] For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
[9] Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.
When I watch very old medieval movies I tend to be extra thankful for being born in the 80’s.
Even fast forward to the 1900s, terrible wars have robbed people of a very precious condition that most of us take for granted. Just a simple study of World War I and II will make you understand that no civilian took peace for granted. Same can be said of the folks in Somalia, Syria and other places today.
The Psalmist finds a positive correlation between peace and prosperity and would admonish a prayer for Peace always (Ps 122:6).
Though wars may be non-existent in places like ours, people fight wars in various manners in their homes and so lack peace of mind and the tranquillity to function as well meaning christians. I pray the peace of God will visit you and provide a peace that is multi-dimensional in your homes. Amen!
Have a blessed day.
