Job 21:7-9 KJV
Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?
[8] Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
[9] Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
I remember many years ago someone asked me an interesting question that got me thinking a lot.
Why do wicked people prosper at all? A good number of wicked people live to a ripe old age and their children get established before them. They succeed in most endeavours and are mostly the envy of many.
These are hard questions. According to Job, people in this category do not find any interest in God because all is just well. Job said all these to defeat the argument that suggested he was a wicked man to merit all the trouble that had befallen him.
Our ultimate goal is to find ourselves on heaven’s list, irrespective of how things turn out here on earth. Don’t be deceived, God is not mocked! Unnecessary focus on how the wicked prosper may only blur our vision and eventually derail us. Keep being good, so only goodness would be in store for you.
Have a blessed day.
