Hebrews 5:8-9 KJV
Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
[9] And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Years ago I read a book entitled, “Patience in the midst of the storm,” by Rev. Samuel Koranteng. In his book, he looked at the concept of ‘suffering’ or better still long-suffering in our walk with God.
Long suffering is very easy to be misconstrued, especially in our part of the world. It is a necessary requirement as we develop faith and patience. Unfortunately, many of us are never prepared to ‘suffer.’
We are not prepared to lay down our comfort for the sake of the Gospel. We find everything devilish in any move or suggestion that would rob us of our comfort and back it up with scriptures that decree otherwise.
Jesus attained perfection (v9) not as a birthright, but through the pain he suffered (v8) for your sake, in obedience to His Father. Don’t attribute your suffering, which is only a fraction of what He went through, to the devil. It’s all for the sake of His name.
Have a blessed day.
